//Ideas about the final

Clock Concept
Right now I don’t have a very clear and distinct idea regarding this, but here are some notes on my trend of thoughts regarding the final. I am very intrigued with the idea of time. So making a clock is the first thing that I have come into mind. Yet, instead of making a clock that reads the physical time, I want to treat this work as a metaphorical installation. I am mostly inspired by Borges and Bergson’s concept of time regarding the non-teleological or non-linear form of time that is more subjective. The time here is not a quantitative multiplicity or a fixed scientific objectivity that resides above us all, but is located as fragmented inflections in individual lives. This is similar to what Bergson is suggesting regarding the “Duree”. This project aims to slightly unveil how free will exists regarding time and space.  The clock I want to craft for the final project should be an embodiment of the multiplicity of individual time where past, present and future conjoins.

How to actualize this idea?
-hearbeat (WIP)
A clock that is more like a web without a linear denotation. Instead of having the elements on the clock being synced with physical time, they are synced with people’s heartbeats.
Through serial communication, have a more audible sound representing and syncing with the hearbeats.

Question
-to what extent do I need to keep the original form of a clock that everyone can recognize?
